1 month anniversary…

Friday was my first vegan month birthday, and for me this concept is so natural that I even forgot about the date! But I cannot forget to congratulate myself for this accomplishment, and to thank all the people that make this so much easier; I have such good friends!

For this “blog party” I though about doing a journal with everything I ate this past month (great idea!) but to tell you the truth I didn’t eat no fancy vegan food, so I decided to make a list with all the vegan products that I got the chance to try out. 100% of them are SOOO GOOD!

Cookies: I’m obsessed for cookies, and I was so glad when I found out that I didn’t have to give up on them.

I know how a lot of people think that vegan sweets suck, but actually they are WAY better than the normal ones. The first one (by Alternative Baking Co.) is SOOO good, moist and fulfilling. The ones from Uncle Eddie’s are my favorite, since they are small and perfect (peanut butter and chocolate is the best cookie I ever had all my life). And the last one (by Dr. Lucy) is very good too, although is more dry than the others, but still pretty tasty. Healthy, tasty and cruelty free cookies, what else do I need? If I were you, I would rush to closest store in the list to get some, you won’t be disappointed.

info.:
Natural Cafe loc: 509 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
Lazy Acres Market loc: 302 Meigs Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93109
Starbucks loc: 800 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101

They also sell online, but I love having lunch at Natural Cafe (outside in the sun, with my best-friends) and then having some perfect vegan desert. It’s up to you 😉

Main meals: I try to keep it simple, especially because I don’t have the patience to cook every single day, twice a day. I love to cook, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes is just nice to spend my time doing other things (watching True Blood, for example).

Veggie Burger (by GardenBurger) is the best vegan invention, REALLY! The veggies inside of it are so good, and the consistence is flawless. The Roasted Vegetable Pizza, No Cheese (by Amy’s Kitchen) is very unusual, and it’s a completely different pizza experience, light in the tummy and so good for the mouth. Amy’s soups are very good too, but I understand that a lot of people are not up for soup, I love it though. And bread… oh bread! What would I do without you? I like Alvarado St. Bakery because organic is the word that reins my vocabulary. Organic fruits, organic vegetables, organic supermarket, organic sugar… ORGANIC!!! Taste so much better, and with good plaining is not heavy in the pocket either. I know how expensive (and marvelous) Lazy Acres (or Whole Foods) is but there’s always good places around you that sell organics, just look harder. Did go to the Farmer’s Market closest to you? Research, ask, walk around, read about it… having information about what you eat is your choice. Think about it!

Deserts and Snacks: I’m definitely a desert and snack person! Sometimes I try to avoid it, but other times I just give in. Enjoying my food 🙂

Peanut Butter… with bread… The only thing I can say is: Gimme Some!! BTW that one is from Arrowhead Mills Organic (I told you, I really like organic). The pieces of peanuts make me crazy, and I love eating just the peanut butter most of the times.

The crunchy Banana Chips are a great option when you have nothing sweet to eat, or when you don’t want loads of sugar. Sunridge Farms doesn’t add white sugar or artificial tastes, and that makes my head spin with joy 🙂

Now the sorbet… I love it so much! I just got it last week, and I’m trying to save as much as I can because is SOO good! I love mango, and along with tangerine makes it so special. Is by Double Rainbow Gourmet Ice Creams and I could eat it all day haha

There is so much alternatives for vegans everywhere that the transition was the easiest thing I ever get the chance to do in my whole life. As you can see I practically just buy groceries at Lazy Acres, because it works FOR ME, but you should go anywhere you want and feel better in it. As I said before: it’s your choice. Although I gave you some pretty good alternatives for your cookies, hamburger, pizza and even ice creams… Now it’s up to you, my friend (as Tatiana would say).

Later on I will do a list of my favorite vegan places to eat, just so you know hehe

I know that most of the people that read my blog aren’t vegan or vegetarians, and my goal is to show my readers how easy is to do something good to ourselves, our planets and the animals. I became a vegan because I wanted to (after reading about it) and maybe the same thing will happen to you. This choice isn’t just about health, is about how much do YOU care about what is going on around you. They need our help!

I am doing my part, what about you?

Best Wishes!
